Fancy colour diamond rings can express a different character from a colourless diamond design. Our original workshop feature showed a yellow-orange diamond and a black diamond in settings made for clients.
Yellow-orange colour in rose gold
A 0.33 ct yellow-orange diamond was set in 18K rose gold. We adapted a design encountered in Switzerland to fit this particular stone, using the metal colour as part of the overall effect.
A black diamond with an infinity motif
The original account described a 1.5 ct black diamond with a GIA report, set in black-finished 18K white gold. A modified infinity sign and heart expressed the idea of lasting love. Review the particular report’s conclusions rather than treating the word natural as proof of natural colour.
What to check for a coloured diamond
- Is the diamond natural or laboratory-grown?
- Is its colour natural, treated or undetermined within the report’s scope?
- Does the report match the stone’s identifying details?
- What care is needed for the stone, metal finish and setting?
